After school yesterday, I was presented with some Huskie Marching Band Swag by OPRF Drum Majors Maya Taylor, Abby Sacks, Gabe Krauter, and Lydia Woolley. Besides providing me with the cool fleece I'm wearing in the picture, they also invited me to a few of their upcoming band competitions. They mentioned that we as a school often
see them perform at football home games, but they feel that their competitions are when they are at their sharpest and most dignified. I then thought to myself- hey...how cool would it be for us to cheer on the very group that gets us all hyped and ready to go for all things OPRF...our Marching Huskies! here are some of their upcoming events:
Geneseo Maple Leaf Classic, Geneseo High School: September 17th
NOHS Marching Band Classic, Benedictine University: September 24th, 4:30 PM
ISU Marching Band Competition, Illinois State University: October 22nd, 4:45 PM
It looks like the competition at Benedictine University next Saturday, September 24th might be the best time to catch them in competition. I'm going to check in with the Huskie Spirit Council and see if we can get the Dawg Pound out there to root on our Marching Huskies! It would be a great way for us to show our appreciation for our Band!
